SAE Member Trip Reports

Welcome to our Trip Report section.

Trip reports are written by travelers (members and non-members alike). These are enormously popular and provide up-to-date, hard-to-find specialized information on just about everything--discount airfares; lodging; language schools; travel conditions; volunteer opportunities, hiking, mountaineering, and kayaking equipment; local outfitters; collecting permits; guides, and uncountable other topics.

While some reports have been formatted for space and content, most reflect the untouched, unedited and winged words of our devoted explorers.

If you have gone on a trip recently and have comments, helpful hints or juicy tidbits about traveling in a particular country or region, or about traveling to South America in general, submit a trip report! Other members will appreciate it immensely.

Lastly, please remember that the following trip reports should only be used for informational purposes. Neither SAE, nor its staff or volunteers guarantees that the recommendations contained in these reports are accurate. We rely solely on the objectivity and honesty of our members when providing you with these reports.

To submit a report, please select the country/city you are writing about and then click on the "add new trip report" at the bottom of that page.

Trip Report Archives (dating before the year 2000):

Also, many more trip reports exist in the archival binders at the clubhouses. If you are interested in a trip and don't see a trip report for it, please contact us.
