Diving in South America
This from a recently certified and totally inexperienced scuba diver (at least as far as South America is concerned): South America is not invariably a good place for scuba diving because of the Humbolt Current and the upwelling that provides nutrients for vast swarms of fish but turns the water murky and bad for diving.

On the other hand, there is the Caribbean coast and there are trip reports of scuba diving in Venezuela, Colombia, and other locations. Also, somewhat out of date and possibly difficult to locate, there were trip reports on scuba diving in the jungle, which by all accounts, is a thrill in itself.

We do have trip reports on scuba diving with Sub Agua in the Galapagos and an interesting article on scuba diving in the Galapagos, but that’s about it.

Contributions to the scuba diving special interest page will be appreciated and the author suitably rewarded, or at least mentioned in club prayers.
