Ilha Grande(near Angra dos Reis which lies a 3 hs bus ride south of Rio) is like paradise and ideal to relax for some days! There are no cars on the island, lots of hiking possibilities across the island (great views), beautiful beaches (best: Lopes Mendes beach) and only small villages like Abraao where I stayed at Pousada Passaredo (clean, very friendly owner called Lala) for 13 USD/night (double room incl. bath & breakfast). I met a couple of guys who travelled for several weeks in Brazil and agreed with me that, if heaven exists, it isnīt far away from Ilha Grande!

Pantanal
I can highly recommend TucanTours in Corumba for a Pantanal Tour. Our guide (Murilo Reis: german & english speaking) was very helpful and we saw a lot of wildlife (2 species of anteaters, apes, caimans, Piranha, waterpigs, Nandus, lots of birds, etc.). Also the other staff members were very helpful.  If you want to head on to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, itīs possible to fly from Corumba with LAB or AeroSur for 94 USD (tax included).
